Learning from Laborintus

  • Washington Printmakers Gallery (map)

Four artists / printmakers from Washington, DC traveled to Rome as part of a 2018 Sister Cities Grant for a week in April. There, the American artists explored etching / engraving techniques at laborintus, an artist enclave at Corviale, a large public housing complex. Their goals are to bring greater exposure to fine-art intaglio and printmaking, and to foster cultural exchange. The work these four artists created in Rome will be exhibited at the Washington Printmakers Gallery in September, 2018, plus work by five Roman master printmakers with whom they worked.
