This workshop will provide training in a variety of techniques to document your textile art through digital photography, using basic lighting techniques and minimal software correction. The workshop will begin with an illustrated discussion of various aesthetic and technical choices to consider when photographing artwork, followed by a hands-on session during which each participant will photograph a textile from the museum's education collection. Artificial lighting techniques will be demonstrated to create images that show off the true color and texture of textiles and fiber art. Basics of archiving images and creating image files will be discussed. Participants are asked to bring their own fully charged camera, digital storage card, and a tripod (if possible). Lighting and background equipment will be on hand for use by participants.
