  • Georgetown University - McDonough School of Business (map)

Abissa is the African Society of Georgetown's cultural showcase which seeks to highlight the fashion, music and diverse culture of the African continent. The theme for the show this year is Reclaiming Our Narratives. The show will seek to portray the plethora of coexisting narratives on the continent and how they all coexist to tell the story of a rising Africa.

The show will be hosted by Pages Matam, an internationally awarded slam poet, award winning author, and the Director of Poetry Events for Busboys and Poets. The show will also feature an array of performances, coupled with fashion runs featuring African designs and topped off with incredible African food and an afterparty!
