Pink Cycle: Life of a fly

  • Capitol Hill Arts Workshop 545 7th Street Southeast Washington, DC, 20003 United States

Presenting a series of house fly drawings, which includes Carolina Mayorga’s largest drawing to date, a 10ft x 12ft site-specific pink fly that will spend its entire life at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. Carolina will be drawing this live at CHAW from 8/29 to 9/8. Check out Carolina working from Noon to 4pm on Thursday, September 1st and Friday, September 2nd. The project comments on stereotyped views of beauty and identity by providing the audience with an aesthetically pleasing experience of one of the most undesirable yet familiar insects in the world. The drawings are also inspired by Carolina's experience of teaching drawing for CHAW’s children and adult programs.
