Kennedy Center Family Day: Con Las Puertas Abiertas (With Open Doors)

  • The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts 2700 F Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20566 United States (map)

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, your entire family is invited to this fun-filled day of free performances, demonstrations, and hands-on activities inspired by Latino culture.

Events for youth of all ages will take place throughout the Terrace Level of the Kennedy Center (in the Atrium & Foyers, Terrace Gallery, and Nations and States Galleries), including music and dance performances from local Latino artists, open dance classes, instrument demonstrations, a photo station, coloring, musical instrument making, face painting, interactive games, murals exploring fruits in Latino countries, and a mural celebrating the diverse D.C. community.

Children and families are encouraged to attend in their native/traditional dress, and the day will feature an opportunity for kids to showcase their costumes.
This KC Family Day is part of Con Los Brazos Abiertos--Embracing Mexico, a series of programs connected to the Kennedy Center's yearlong JFKC: A Centennial Celebration of John F. Kennedy.
